QSL tries out a new app
Until the end of June, Meyer Quick Service Logistics (QSL) is testing an app developed by Spedion, a company that specialises in telematics systems for the transport industry. The mobile application enables a more transparent and consistently digital organisation and visualisation of logistics processes.
A tablet with Spedion’s app is permanently installed in the driver’s cabin. It guides the driver through the entire process: from the receipt of the order through pre-departure checks, temperature monitoring and GPS navigation to the confirmation of the order, including a signature and photo upon delivery.
“In the current trial period, we are using six vehicles to gather important information for the planned implementation of the app in our entire fleet,” said Jürgen Jacobi, senior manager team cargo at QSL. If the new programme is integrated as a standard tool, the company also plans to offer online access for its customers. (mw)
