Qatar Airways' new destinations in the Med
From today (29 May 2019), Qatar Airways is operating three B787 flights per week to the Moroccan capital Rabat, via Marrakech. The carrier has also concluded a joint business agreement with Royal Air Maroc and now offers daily flights to Casablanca, the biggest city of the kingdom in Northwest Africa.
Only last week, Qatar Airways celebrated the addition of Izmir (photo), its seventh Turkish gateway. The route, operated thrice weekly with A320, enables Qatar Airways Cargo to offer direct cargo capacity for perishable exports such as fresh fish and fruit from Western Turkey.
Trucking services will also be offered both ways between Izmir and Istanbul, offering more than 50 t per month to and from Izmir. Belly-hold cargo capacity to Antalya will soon be introduced. (ah)
