PSA extending business in Turkey
Port operator and supply chain partner PSA has signed an agreement to acquire 75% of the shares of Alisan Logistics, which focuses on transport solutions for fast-moving consumer goods, chemicals, automotive industries, and the agro business.
When the transaction is completed, Alisan will be grouped under the auspices of PSA’s cargo solutions arm, PSA BDP.
Headquartered in Istanbul, Alisan is a family-owned Turkish logistics services provider. With more than 1,600 employees and 39 warehousing sites located in the vicinity of chemical producers, its service portfolio includes international and domestic packed distribution, bulk liquid & dry bulk distribution, warehouse operations and value-added services.
With the investment, PSA will benefit from Alisan’s strong presence in Turkey with its local expertise in contract logistics and domestic distribution, the company said. Alisan will gain access to PSA’s network of deep sea, rail, and inland terminals worldwide, affiliated businesses in distriparks, warehouses, logistics and marine services, as well as global expertise in end-to-end supply chain services.
The transaction is subject to formal approvals by the relevant authorities and other customary closing conditions. (ben)
