Providing Eurogate Hamburg with straddle carriers
Eurogate Container Terminal Hamburg has ordered 15 hybrid Konecranes Noell straddle carriers with a new modular design, allowing easy powertrain retrofits to reduce fossil fuel reliance.
The units will be delivered by July 2026. Eurogate, which handles more than 12 million teu annually in Europe and Africa, has used Konecranes Noell straddle carriers for 25 years.
The latest investment supports its transition to CO₂-neutral operations. The modular carriers can be upgraded to battery-electric or hydrogen power without major rebuilds. The new units will also support TIC 4.0 standards for advanced data transmission, which is in line with Konecranes’ ’Ecolifting’ vision for sustainable container handling. (ah)
