Promoting digitalisation in container shipping
Pacific International Lines (PIL) has joined the Digital Container Shipping Association (DCSA) to enhance digital standardisation in the container shipping industry.
DCSA, which is composed of major container shipping companies representing 70% of global trade, aims to achieve this goal by establishing interoperable data standards. The collaboration will focus on areas such as paperless trade and cargo visibility to streamline operations and improve customer interactions along the global supply chain.
PIL's involvement underscores its commitment to digital transformation initiatives, including the implementation of electronic bills of lading which improve efficiency and security in the handling of documents.
Together with DCSA, it seeks to drive an industry-wide adoption of digital solutions, enhancing sustainability and operational efficiency in international shipping, PIL said in a press release. (pb) www.dcsa.org
