Promising test results for e-trailer
In a first for Germany, logistics service provider DSV has tested the fuel consumption of an e-trailer from Trailer Dynamics under real conditions in direct comparison with a conventional trailer - both with a payload of 11 t.
On the 360 km route from Krefeld to Westerkappeln and back, the consumption level was compared every 10 km. The result after the test drive showed that the tractor unit saved 48.24% of diesel when driven in combination with the e-trailer. Using green electricity, this would be a saving of 100 kg of CO2.
The second test phase will now focus on gathering practical experience in handling e-trailers. (ben)
