Prologis: two hubs near Stuttgart
Prologis is planning two new logistics properties on a 45,000 sqm site in Illingen, near Stuttgart. The distribution centres will be sustainable and fully electric. The first will be built as a greenfield project on an undeveloped plot of land. After the construction phase, which will start in April, the building will comprise 13,000 sqm.
The second project is a brownfield. Construction is scheduled to begin in June after the old building has been demolished. The 10,500 sqm centre is expected to be completed in April 2025. Heat pumps, solar and e-charging stations will enable the buildings to operate fully electrically.
Björn Thiemann, senior vice president, regional head Northern Europe at Prologis: "With its location near Stuttgart in the southwest Rhine-Neckar region, the Illingen site has great potential, as many manufacturing companies are settled here." (mk)
