Products "made in Italy" directly to Japan
MSC Air Cargo has flagged off its first Italian flight from Milan (MXP). Coming from Liège, the B777-200F departed for Tokyo (NRT) last Friday, 6 October 2023. This inaugural flight in the presence of over 35 companies and airport authorities is part of a weekly service of MSC Group's air cargo division with delivery of goods by the following day.
The aircraft (100 t capacity) will focus on exporting high-value Italian products, including luxury fashion and accessories. SVP Jannie Davel: "We are delighted to have celebrated this significant flight dedicated to the Italian market alongside our clients."
Francesco Raschi, cargo and real estate director of SEA Aeroporti di Milano, the airport which with 721,000 t of cargo handled in 2022 now has a 65% market share: "We hope that this event marks the beginning of a significant development program at Malpensa." (ah)
