Private equity fund creates European logistics player
Axcel, a Scandinavian private equity fund, is purchasing the companies Carousel and Danx from the founders and former investors to create a pan-European logistics network for critical logistics services.
The partners in the new group, with an annual turnover of around EUR 190 million, are active in the UK, Ireland, Germany, the Iberian Peninsula, Scandinavia and the Baltic states. The main focus is on aftermarket and spare parts logistics.
"It was a privilege to work with Graham Martin, who founded Carousel, the Carousel supervisory board and the team at investor Livingbridge, to lay the foundations for this extraordinary opportunity," commented Jonathan Simpson-Dent, CEO at Carousel.
The transaction is subject to the customary regulatory approvals and is expected to close in Q1/2022. (sh)
