Port of Ystad: more traffic with Poland in 2018

2018 statistics reveal that the port of Ystad's registered a marked surge in cargo transport, lorries and cars. Björn Boström, CEO of the Swedish port, declared: "It is quite encouraging that our clients’ efforts and continued growth in our key markets are paying off."

The port of Ystad sees daily ferry services to Poland and Bornholm (Denmark). The cargo growth stems was driven by traffic to and from Poland. Bus numbers moving between Poland and Sweden, via Ystad increased remarkably in 2018. However, the number of railway wagons transported through the port decreased last year, and ended completely in January 2019, at least for the time being.

Compared to previous years, Polferries and Bornholmslinjen offered more sailings in 2018. (kd)
