Port of Douala gearing up for growth
Cameroon’s Régie du Terminal à Conteneurs (RTC) has ordered two Konecranes Gottwald harbour cranes. RTC expects the volume of cargo passing through the port of Douala to continue to rise, which is why it needs extra capacity in the terminal that handles most of Cameroon’s maritime trade. The cranes will arrive in August 2021.
The new G HMK 6507 Konecranes Gottwald model 6 mobile harbour cranes offer a lifting capacity of 125 t and a radius of 51 m, so they can serve post-panamax class containerships, handling both general as well as heavy project cargo. RTC already has Konecranes lift trucks and mobile harbour cranes in service.
