Polish intermodal operator orders 200 freight cars
Laude Smart Intermodal in Poland has ordered 200 flat cars on 25 t axle load bogies from the Russian manufacturer UWC. The vehicles are used for the transportation of heavy-duty containers along the 1,520-mm track gauge corridor between Russia and Poland.
The ordered batch is set to be delivered by the end of May 2020. This type is designed for the carriage of heavy-duty containers and tank containers up to 40 t.
According to CEO Marcin Witzchak, Laude has recently signed a contract on the supply of cars for the 1,435-mm track gauge and is now in the process of signing a contract on an additional batch of cars for the 1,520-mm track gauge. (ben)
