Polish and Ukrainian railways tighten ties
The war in Ukraine has set completely new challenges for the rail sector. At the Inno Trans in Berlin (Germany), the Polish State Railway PKP and Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) signed a joint statement on the development, continuation and strengthening of their cooperation.
In their statement, the two rail companies emphasise the need for dialogue on solutions for the operation of the rail market, institutional and organisational changes, as well as the financing of rail transport.
As part of their cooperation, the parties will hold periodic consultations on the development of rail transport and take steps to implement the transformation of the Polish and Ukrainian railway systems. (ben)
