Plant for trucks with alternative drives
Iveco and Nikola have jointly opened a production plant for Nikola Tre heavy duty trucks in Ulm (Germany). Production is due to start punctually at the end of this year. As forecast by Iveco, CNH Industrial's utility vehicles brand, the first Nikola Tre models to be built in the new facility will go to selected customers in USA.
In addition to the serially manufactured battery-electric (BEV) Nikola Tre truck, the two companies also presented a prototype for fuel cell powered, emission-free heavy-duty vehicles at the opening ceremony. This model will go into production in Ulm in late 2023. (ben)
