Planning a CT terminal and empty container depot

A multinational rail logistics hub is to be set up on the site of the former marshalling yard in Hamm, Westphalia, Germany.

The German Federal Railway Authority has confirmed that the Multi Hub Westfalen, a CT terminal, is a project eligible for state funding. This means that the planning for the construction on the southern area of the roughly 600,000 sqm site can now enter the next phase.

In the next few years, a multifunctional logistics area with publicly accessible terminal facilities and a connection to the existing freight station, depot, and logistics areas as well as sidings will be built here. The site of the prospective terminal is well connected to major rail, inland waterway and motorway routes. (ben)
