Pioneering a cargo solution for B737-200 combis
As new Transport Canada regulations mandate the transition from class B to class F cargo compartments, Nolinor Aviation has introduced an innovative solution to keep its Boeing B737-200 combi flights operational while ensuring compliance.
“The Boeing B737-200 is the best aircraft for gravel runways, so switching to another type wasn’t an option. Our solution maintains flexibility, improves safety and meets regulatory standards,” said Marco Prud’Homme, the president of Nolinor Aviation.
Developed with AmSafe Bridport, the solution includes fire containment covers (FCCs) and specialised nets, eliminating the need for fixed bulkheads. FCCs provide six hours of fire protection, deter tampering and maintain cargo configuration flexibility. Nolinor has already begun fleet-wide implementation, with full compliance expected by June 2025. (ah)
