PIL onto the shores
Carrier Pacific International Lines (PIL) is introducing its PIL Intermodal Services, which features train, truck and barge services to complement its container shipping services. This intermodal offers will now be available across the group’s existing network in Intra-Asia, Africa, Middle East, Latin America and Oceania.
The aim is to let customers manage their cargoes by entrusting PIL to provide transportation services from the points of origin to the final destinations. Alternatively, they can choose
to arrange their own last-mile transportation. Dedicated train and barge services are part of the portfolio. Lars Kastrup, CEO, PIL, spoke of “growing market demand for intermodal services in recent years.” The PIL Intermodal Service is currently available in Africa, Australia, Cambodia, Guatemala, India, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Thailand and China.
