Pigs can fly after all

The Chinese pig and pork production industry had been slowly recovering from the 2019 African swine fever, but then outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic caused another blow to the industry. As life is slowly returning to a "new normal" in China, the requirement and consumption of pork have rapidly increased.

Intradco Global has played a major part in meeting this demand, by flying imported pigs from Europe into China. In the most recent operation, the Intradco Global team delivered three planeloads of breeding pigs, including Duroc and Landrace nucleus herds, utilising three Il-76TD-90VD with custom-built crates and watering systems.

Having just a seven-day window to deliver all flights, Intradco flew the pigs from London STN via Denmark for full inspection and quarantine before arrival in Xuzhou. (ah)
