Pharma logistics with an e-truck
The pharmaceutical logistics specialist Unitax now deploys a 40 t e-truck in local transport, one of two custom-built electric tractor units (E-SZMs) that will be used in the ‘E-Haul’ research project to be conducted by the Technical University of Berlin from summer 2023 onwards.
The vehicles have an output of 500 kW, a charging speed of 150 kW and a battery capacity of 440 kWh. In the actual test phase, which will begin in summer, Unitax will trial the e-truck in regular operation on Germany’s Dresden–Berlin–Schönefeld–Dresden route.
The aim is to find out whether battery replacement could be used as an alternative to battery charging by cable. (ben)
