Pharma follows perishables
A few weeks ago Oman Air was certified in accordance with ‘CEIV Fresh’, Iata's Center of Excellence for Independent Validators for fresh logisticscs (CEIV Fresh). Now the carrier has also been certified in accordance with Iata CEIV Pharma, confirming its capabilities to safeguard the integrity of time and temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical products in transit.
In obtaining the industry-wide standard, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman now aims to grow its participation as an important carrier for the global biopharma industry.
For CEO Abdulaziz Al Raisi, the certification of its capabilities for the quality handling of healthcare products is "especially significant". The CEIV Pharma and CEIV Fresh certifications will strengthen the airline's position in the cold chain logistics market. (ah)
