Petrov follows in Pietersen’s footsteps at Fiata
The general meeting of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (Fiata), held virtually last week, was attended by 184 delegates from 76 economies. It which would normally take place during the Fiata World Congress.
In the Presidency leadership team, the following positions were confirmed:
• President: Ivan Petrov, NSBS (Bulgaria)
• Senior Vice Presidents: Turgut Erkeskin, Utikad (Turkey); Thomas Sim, SLA (Singapore); Jens Roemer, Forward Belgium
• Secretary General: Robert Keen, Bifa (UK)
• Treasurer: Galo Molina, ASEACI (Ecuador)
• Immediate Past President: Basil Pietersen, SAAFF (South Africa)
President Petrov thanked the members for their support and acknowledged the significant contributions made by his predecessor to address the unprecedented challenges faced by Fiata during his term, the changes implemented to date from the association's ‘Reset Programme’, and the work still to be done. While no future can be assured, he is confident that with the support of members in the general meeting that the future is promising. (ah)
