Peta: Don't Trust them!

Documents obtained by Peta, the global animal welfare NGO founded 43 years ago today, from European partners reveal that between April 2021 and May 2023, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) and other carriers flew more than 5,300 dogs from US suppliers to European testing laboratories.

Most of them come from Marshall Bio Resources, which operates a beagle factory farm in upstate New York. Records acquired by the UK organisation The Camp Beagle show that over 2,300 dogs, some of whom were flown on SAS between October 2021 and September 2022, wound up in facilities in France, Hungary, the Netherlands and UK.

Trust Forwarding is the logistics company that Marshall uses to import dogs via Copenhagen, destined for Charles River Laboratories, Labcorp and Sequani - under conditions in contrast to what its website affirmed before the company's acquisition by SGL, Scan Global Logistics in June: "Our extensive experience shipping live animals ensures the journey is safe with minimal stress to the animal."
