Passing the Hindu Kush with an A321F
Ten days ago, on 17 September, Smartlynx Airlines Cargo, part of the Avia Solutions Group family, a provider of acmi services, made its first stop at Navoi international airport (NVI) in Uzbekistan.
This technical stop was a scheduled part of the cargo route from Dhaka, Bangladesh, to Lodz, Poland, with an additional stop in Varna, Bulgaria. The service was operated using one of its A321F which have Latvian, Estonian and Maltese AOCs.
Captain Carlos Marcelo Cardenas Becerra: "The first flight through the mountainous area of the Hindu Kush was impressive. It was an honour and a privilege to have been in command of the first flight over such a rugged and challenging region." The carrier plans to add several more rotations to this route with a technical stop in NVI for refuelling and crew rotation purposes. (ah)
