Partnership for pallet logistics
The ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) has partnered with Pallet Control Tower (PCT) to enhance the management of EUR pallets and returnable transport items (RTIs). The collaboration aims to streamline pallet exchange and establish the EUR pallet system as a global standard.
A key aspect of the partnership is the implementation of PCT’s digital e-credits system, enabling virtual pallet exchanges in Europe and intercontinentally. In addition to facilitating pallet swaps, the 'PCT Online' platform allows users to buy and sell pallets and RTIs in various markets, incöluding those in the Americas and the Emea and Asia-Pacific regions.
RCG also sees this cooperation as a step towards adapting to upcoming EU regulations, including a new packaging and waste regulation. Integrating API technology will support the digitisation of pallet logistics. (js)
