Partners for Canadian exports to Asia

Flexport, a global provider of supply chain technology, and Calgary-based Westjet Cargo have signed an agreement to offer new airfreight solutions for Canadian exports into Asia.

Utilising the network of Westjet’s wide and narrow-bodied aircraft and its newly introduced fleet of four dedicated B737-800 converted freighters, the airline will deliver Canadian cargo to Chicago (ORD), where Flexport operates dedicated freighters from the USA to key air freight hubs in Asia, including Seoul (ICN), Shanghai (PVG) and Hong Kong.

The direct links with Asia will particularly benefit Halifax and the Maritime provinces, renowned for their thriving seafood exports. The partners will also operate seasonal flights from Vancouver to transport cherries to Korea and provide opportunities for specialised and high-value commodities and innovative handling solutions.
