Partners for a new bunker solution
Zero North and Hapag-Lloyd have announced a strategic partnership to develop a digital bunker procurement and planning solution. The aim is to create a tool that will help Hapag-Lloyd navigate the energy transition, reduce fuel costs, and enhance efficiency.
The new solution will digitalise the entire bunker planning and procurement process, introducing features like streamlined contract and port planning, contract tender capabilities, and a true price algorithm. It aligns with Hapag-Lloyd's decarbonisation goals and reflects the ongoing digitalisation of the bunker market, driven by advances in technology and data.
Zero North's managing director, Kenneth Juhls, and Hapag-Lloyd's senior director of global fuel purchasing, Jan Christensen, both emphasised the importance of partnerships in tackling industry challenges and advancing maritime decarbonisation. (pb)
