Partnering to increase ferry and rail services
DFDS‘ Mediterranean business unit is investing more in intermodal transport solutions that combine ferry and rail transport. To this end, DFDS recently signed an agreement with logistics company Prime Rail, which will become DFDS’s contractual partner in its relations with rail transport providers such as railway companies, terminals and operators.
DFDS and Prime Rail will also join forces to set up an operational excellence centre in Köln-Troisdorf (Germany) – in addition to the commercial excellence centre already in place.
Since Prime Rail is well established in Cologne, the office will be expanded into a hub for rail and intermodal service solutions. After that, the companies plan to increase their activities in the rest of Europe as well. (ben)
