Panattoni invests in Leipzig
Panattoni Europe has signed a contract of cooperation with Invest Region Leipzig GmbH and the district town of Schkeuditz (Germany). The partners have decided to pool their expertise with regard to the development and marketing of the Panattoni Park Leipzig Airport.
By the beginning of 2021, Panattoni Europe will build a logistics hub comprising a 51,000 sqm hall area, about 2,000 sqm of office space and about 3,400 of mezzanine floors on a plot covering 114,510 sqm in the Airport Park Leibzig-Halle. Around EUR 40 million will be invested in the project.
Stefan Bohn, managing director, development & project management at Panattoni, says: “Considering the acute lack of space in the logistics real estate industry, we can achieve a great deal with a close cooperation with Invest Region Leipzig and the district town of Schkeuditz. In particular, we can improve the planning of approval procedures and include follow-up issues such as the local labour potential in the marketing process. We greatly appreciate the constructive cooperation with all partners involved. We believe that such cooperative projects are becoming increasingly important.” (mw)
