"Paderewski" sails east
The "Paderewski", Chipolbrok's one of four Pacific type heavy lifters built in 2016 with cranes lifting up to 700 t and hatches of up to 50.56 m length, is on its tour to Asia again.
The eastbound trade started at Hamburg, where the employment list forced a stop-over at two terminals to take over 1.300 t of machinery and equipment, mainly destined for Indonesia.
The big bang happened at Antwerp to load totally 21,400 t of mixed cargo. A lot of those were steel products, e.g. a 302 t hammer unit, railway equipment and heavy machinery parts between of 50 and 95 t unit weight.
Ravenna and Porto Marghera in Italy completed the tour in Europe and loaded heavy presses and accessories for Pakistan and India weighing about 3,100 t and 3,610 cbm general cargo incl. equipment and reels of up to 164 t unit weight.
The discharging rotation started at Karachi, then Mundra, Mumbai, Singapore, Surabaya, Shekou, Kaohsiung, Busan and the homeport Shanghai. (cd)
