P2F conversions take off at Istanbul
Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW), a centre of excellence for Airbus passenger-to-freighter conversions (P2F), has commenced operations at its new third-party freighter conversion site in Istanbul (Turkey), after its first A330P2F was inducted as scheduled in October.
This Istanbul site was set up in collaboration with Turkish Technic, an MRO company globally certified as a Part 145 and Part 21 J&G organisation. With the Istanbul site, EFW has a total of nine modification sites carrying out its conversion programmes worldwide.
“We're glad to get Turkish Technic on board, as it has in-depth experience with maintaining Airbus aircraft,” said EFW CEO Jordi Boto. “By working with partners with strong structural skills and operational excellence we can meet our customer commitments well.” (cj)
