Optimised ULD handling at high rack levels
In order to ensure an optimal flow of goods using ULDs (unit load devices) at the airport, the system supplier Dimos Maschinenbau has further developed a vehicle specially designed for this purpose – the ETV (elevating transfer vehicle).
Compared to heavier traditional ETVs, Dimos has created a new lightweight, more efficient and more sustainable version. At the same time, it allows the storage of goods at high lift heights, significantly increasing the available storage space for users. In terms of performance, the ETV offers a high load capacity of up to 14 t for the 20-foot variant.
"Our version weighs around a third less than comparable vehicles. This means that it is not only more economical in terms of consumption and more flexible to use, but also less maintenance-intensive and cheaper than many comparable models due to the amount of material used," explains Pascal Schütz, managing director at Dimos.
