Operail: private fleet for external transports
Estonia has changed its procedures and conditions for ordering freight wagons for external transport services, which means that Operail can no longer lease its freight wagons in the public fleet. From now on, all wagons of the state-owned carrier will be re-registered as a private fleet.
Operail will conclude a wagon rental contract with the customer seeking to use the wagons for transporting goods outside Estonia.
The rental contracts have a fixed rental fee, deposit, and rental conditions – including responsibility for the costs of the wagon’s ongoing repairs abroad, the company said. The rental prices will be based on size, duration, route, and market situation. The terms and conditions for renting Operail wagons for domestic transports within Estonia remain unchanged. (ben)
