Oostende: a new warehouse in operation
Port Oostende’s subsidiary Rebo officially inaugurated its new warehouse on 30 August 2023. Acquired in October 2019, the offshore wind terminal has now been repositioned to a multipurpose heavy weight terminal.
Rebo invested around EUR 3.5 million in a 6,900 sqm warehouse to attract more maritime traffic. It will operate the facility under its own management.
Bart Tommelein – the city’s mayor & president of Rebo: "We continue to take steps towards the development of Port Oostende and Rebo by offering various competitive services to port users. Additional traffic will strengthen our port and increase employment in our city. We can only welcome that."
Port Oostende focuses its business on the following five segments: blue economy, lift-on lift-off, bulk and project cargo, cruises and roll-on-roll-off, circular industry and the fisheries sector. (mk)
