OOCL's revenues keep rising


Cosco affiliate Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL), headquartered in Hong Kong, has reported its figures for Q3/2022. The revenues passed the threshold of USD 5 billion, a significant increase of 16.9% compared to Q3/2021 (USD 4.31 billion).

 

Yet, cargo flows went down by 3.4%, especially on the transpacific trade lanes, which declined by 14.4% to about 419,000 teu. The carrier's overall load factor was 1.4% lower than in Q3/2021, while the overall average revenue per teu continued to grow, being 21.1% higher compared to Q3/2022.

 

For the nine months ended on 30 September 2022, OOCL reported that revenues saw an uptick of 43.4%, while volumes dropped by 6.2% compared to the same period of 2021. (sh)
