OOCL gains ground in 2019
OOCL has reported its unaudited operational results for Q3/2019, which ended on 30th September this year. The Hong Kong-headquartered company saw an uptick in volumes (+4.1%) compared to the same period last year.
Total revenues in the period rose by 5.8% to USD 1.65 billion. Loadable capacity increased by 4.7%. Nevertheless, the overall load factor was 0.4% lower than the same period in 2018, but the overall average revenue per teu improved by 1.6% compared to Q3/2018.
For the first nine months of 2019 (ending 30th September 2019), total volumes increased to 5.16 million teu, a 3.5% improvement compared to the same period last year. Total revenues recorded a 6.3% growth, amounting to USD 4.67 billion. Loadable capacity grew by 4.5%. The overall load factor was 0.8% lower than in the same period in 2018. Overall average revenue per teu was 2.7% higher than in the same period last year. (fd)
