ONE takes over first 24,000 teu vessel
As Ocean Network Express (ONE) aims to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 with its "Green Vision" strategy, the shipping company received its first ever 24,000-teu class Megamax vessel "One Innovation" at the Japan Marine United Corporation’s Kure Shipyard on 2 June 2023.
The vessel's hull design aims to maximise cargo intake and minimise fuel consumption. It is equipped with a bow windshield, an energy saving device, and an exhaust gas cleaning system to meet the IMO’s emission regulations.
The largest vessel in ONE’s fleet, the first of six of this size ordered, will be deployed on the Asia to Europe (FE3) service under The Alliance. Its rotation: Ningbo – Xiamen – Kaohsiung – Yantian – Singapore – Rotterdam – Hamburg – Antwerp – Southampton – Algeciras – Singapore – Yantian – Hong Kong – Kaohsiung – Ningbo. (lh)
