ONE's call to action
Singapore-based Japanese container shipping company Ocean Network Express (ONE) is joining the “getting to zero coalition”, an alliance of more than 150 companies within the maritime, energy, infrastructure and finance sectors that aims to decarbonise shipping.
“ONE is committed to playing a proactive role in driving decarbonisation within our industry through significant investments in carbon neutral emissions technologies,” says Jeremy Nixon, chief executive officer of Ocean Network Express.
ONE is also a founding member of the global centre for maritime decarbonisation (GCMD) in Singapore, a USD 120 million initiative to support the maritime industry’s energy transition journey.
Working with the maritime and port authority of Singapore (MPA), ONE along with five other industry partners announced the set-up of a decarbonisation centre in April 2021. (cd)
