One man's trash is CTP's treasure
CTP Germany has won this year's Brownfield 24 Award for its park in Bremen-Hemelingen. The project involves the regeneration of a former landfill site belonging to the city of Bremen. By 1 June, the company will build a new logistics park covering around 28,700 sqm on the brownfield site.
Because the project included a contaminated ground area, CTP had to develop a concept that minimised the removal of landfill material. The foundation level was levelled using a cut & fill method. CTP also took care to protect the groundwater.
For these efforts, the park has now received the award for Best Brownfield Project (logistics). It is equipped with a photovoltaic system and air heat pumps and fulfils the DGNB Gold requirements. Thanks to its location, the park is well connected to the motorway and the region’s (wind) energy sector. (mk)
