ONE launches rail/sea connections
Ocean Network Express (ONE) has opened two new services to route export/import cargo via the Balmer Lawrie CFS in Kolkata, utilising rail services to connect with mainline vessels at the port of Nhava Sheva (India). The links have been designed primarily for customers in Kolkata and Haldia, in the Indian federal state of West Bengal.
This enhanced connectivity provides direct access to global destinations, including the USA, Europe, the Mediterranean and Africa, ONE said. Inbound shipments will also benefit, with cargo discharged from mainline vessels at Nhava Sheva Port and transported by rail to Balmer Lawrie CFS for efficient delivery. The service includes fixed-day train departures from the Balmer Lawrie CFS. (ben)
