ONE grows port holdings
Ocean Network Express (ONE), the world’s sixth largest container carrier, has acquired a majority stake in two US West Coast terminal operators, Trapac in Oakland and Yusen Terminals in Los Angeles, and a significant stake in Rotterdam World Gateway (RWG).
These strategic acquisitions, which are part of ONE's midterm investment strategy, aim to enhance its global supply chain presence, secure terminal capacity in essential gateways, and improve service offerings.
The terminals at Los Angeles and Oakland augment ONE's US operations with advanced technology and a significant combined capacity, while the RWG stake provides a foothold in a major European hub with an automated setup, ensuring long-term capacity.
Hiroki Tsujii of ONE highlighted the acquisitions' role in bolstering supply chain resilience and delivering high quality customer service. These moves mark ONE's enhanced presence in key global regions, including North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. (pb)
