Offshore wind projects boost SOV market
The rapid expansion of offshore wind development, with turbines being installed in remote and challenging environments, has amplified the demand for service operation vessels (SOVs) equipped with flexible solutions for maintenance.
Vestdavit, a Norwegian supplier, is meeting this requirement by providing innovative davit systems (i.e. lifting devices) for heavy-duty workboats, enabling a safe transfer crew and equipment in variable sea states.
With global investments in offshore wind set to more than double by 2030, the use of such technologies is critical for ensuring an efficient and reliable maintenance of wind farms. As demand for SOVs rises, operators are increasingly adopting advanced davit systems, highlighting their importance for future offshore operations. (pb)
