Not only kangaroos...
...but also koalas can make big jumps. Last week, TAP Air Cargo flew Gowi Nee Bu, a two-year-old male koala, in the cabin of a A320neo from Paris to Lisbon, where he is taking part of the zoo's conservation programmes for endangered species.
Close to reaching sexual maturity, this koala will be one of the protagonists in the conservation and expansion of its own species, which is threatened with extinction, aggravated by the severe fires that have affected Australia in recent years.
Another four koalas - two females and two males - will make an even bigger leap these days and fly from Brisbane in their Australian homeland to Stuttgart. After a four-week quarantine, they will populate the new "Terra Australis" in the zoo of the Southwest German city from 25 July 2023. (ah)
