North America: from a route to a network
US transport company Schneider is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its intermodal service offering. In 1991, Schneider launched its first route from Chicago to Los Angeles combining truck and rail transport.
Today, Schneider’s intermodal network has over 45 ramps with major railroads connecting intermodal containers across the USA, Mexico and Canada.
Intermodal transport has opened a new wave of opportunities and innovations for investment. The company has 22,300 intermodal containers and 20,600 intermodal chassis and generates an annual revenue of USD 4.6 billion. (ben)
