Nordfrost: a new North Sea terminal
Nordfrost's new seaport terminal has now been completed. The 33 ha facility is located at the container harbour in Wilhemshaven and offers storage space for food, non-food and pharmaceuticals as well as a heavy goods warehouse for the mechanical engineering and renewable energy sectors.
The company also organises sea freight and container trucking and operates a container depot. The area includes an empty container depot (1.5 ha) and a factory hall (2 ha). There is also a drying hall for the storage of machinery, plant components, etc. The construction work was carried out by general contractor Goldbeck and regional contractors.
"Of the 33 ha of land which we have at our disposal in Wilhelmshaven’s container port, around 5 ha are still undeveloped. We will develop them in a next phase in line with demand," says Falk Bartels, who shares the management of the company with his sister, Berta Bartels. (mk)
