Noerpel to quit Munich
The Noerpel Group is building a modern freight forwarding centre in Odelzhausen, some 30 km northwest of Munich. Work is due to start this spring. The company, which expects to invest around EUR 25 million in the entire project, will move its forwarding office – now in Munich city centre - to the new site at the end of 2019.
The Odelzhausen platform will encompass around 13,000 sqm of hall and office space. To ensure efficient handling, the terminal will have more than 100 loading gates and a 9,800 sqm cross-dock area.
Helmut Kirschner, manager of Noerpel’s Munich office, declared: "We move more than 800 t of goods per day at our forwarding centre in Munich. Given this volume, we have simply exploited all our space here, and we cannot expand any further because the location is in the city centre." (mw)
