Noerpel opens new forwarding hub
The 10,000 sqm freight forwarding terminal in Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany, was built within a year on a 42,000 sqm site. It has 82 loading gates, a 7,300 sqm hall and around 2,000 sqm of office space.
Noerpel has been running a forwarding hub in Villingen- Schwenningen since 2013. With the modern new building, the company is replacing the previously used facility in the immediate vicinity, whose capacities were no longer sufficient.
The new building features modern building technology and efficient energy solutions. It was built according to the BEG 40 standard and requires only 40% of the energy which would be consumed by a comparable conventionally constructed building.
A photovoltaic system on the hall roof generates a large part of the required electricity. The hall façade is made of recyclable metal cassette elements.
The new building is heated with an energy-saving air-water heat pump. A measurement and control system links up all the building’s technology. E-charging stations for cars are also installed on the site, and pre-fitting facitilities for e-trucks are planned. (ben)
