Noatum sells BCDS stake
Noatum, a Spanish affiliate of the AD Ports Group, has sold its 27.9% stake in the Barcelona Container Depot Service Group (BCDS) for EUR 11 million, generating a one-time capital gain of EUR 10 million. This divestment is in line with the AD Ports Group’s strategy to manage its asset portfolio by monetising non-core holdings for which majority ownership or operational control isn’t viable.
Noatum, a specialist for maritime, logistics and port operations services, was acquired by the AD Ports Group in July. BCDS specialises in storing, maintaining, repairing and cleaning containers and ISO tanks, primarily in Barcelona.
Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, the managing director and group CEO of the AD Ports Group, emphasised the importance of this move for Noatum’s investment portfolio.
Antonio Campoy, CEO of Noatum’s logistics cluster, expressed optimism about focusing on core initiatives that promote growth and expansion in the firm’s integrated terminals, maritime and logistics businesses. (pb)
