Noatum Maritime’s first LNG-powered ro-ro vessel
Noatum Maritime, part of the AD Ports Group, has taken delivery of its first LNG-powered pure car and truck carrier (PCTC), the ‘UGR Al Samha’.
The newbuilding will operate under the recently launched joint venture with Erkport, United Global Ro-Ro. The vessel offers capacity for over 7,000 car equivalent units (ceu) on twelve decks totalling 59,331 m². Its LNG propulsion is designed to cut emissions, improve operational efficiency and support the UAE’s 2050 net-zero targets.
As a first step in Noatum’s broader fleet transition strategy, the vessel underscores the company’s long-term commitment to sustainability and innovation in maritime transport. The ‘UGR Al Samha’ will mainly serve routes in the Middle East, Asia and the Mediterranean, enhancing logistics for vehicles and high and heavy cargo and expanding Noatum’s strategic presence in these fast-growing trade lanes.
