Nigeria: breaking ground for air cargo facility


Kabir Yusuf Mohammed, managing director of Nigeria’s Federal Airports Authority, laid the foundation for the development of an aviation cargo village.

 

The facility located on Ajao road, Ikeja on a 27,000 sqm plot of land would be a one stop shop for all cargo related air transport matters upon completion.

 

Muktar Yusuf Muye, director, airport operations, Femi-Pearce Olumuyiwa, director, commercial and business development, and Ikechi Uko, chairman FAAN aviation cargo committee were also present at the ground breaking ceremony.

 

The aviation cargo village is part of the mandate of the FAAN aviation cargo committee set up to improve Nigeria’s aviation cargo ranking in Africa. It will handle processing and packaging of cargo items and documentation and will also have laboratory facilities. (cj)
