Nigel Rice now delivers pallets electrically
Nigel Rice Transport & Storage, from the UK, recently added its first fully electric truck, thus taking a major step towards reducing its carbon footprint. The Renault Trucks ‘E-Tech D16 4x2’ will handle local pallet network deliveries and collections as part of its commitments with Palletline.
The vehicle will cover around 120 km a day and be charged overnight at Nigel Rice’s yard, thus ensuring that it’s ready for the next day’s deliveries. The haulier currently operates a fleet of 16 vehicles.
Nigel Rice’s new addition, powered by 265 kWh and 600 V lithium-ion batteries, is equipped with an 8 m curtain-sided body and a tuckaway tail lift. (ben)
